REINE BEAU - THE 'POT OF GOLD' AT THE END OF THE ADELAIDE FRINGE - 8/3/26

When musicians step on stage you know very quickly how they roll. The talented Reine Beau of Night Owl Shows is unique in that when she walks into the spotlight she grabs the audience by the collective throat and holds your attention for the entire gig.

What makes Reine different is that she has the rare ability to morph into the artist she is portraying and seamlessly channel their voice, tone, body language and fashion choices.

Reine sings cruisey songs from the Mama's & The Papa's, Joni Mitchell and The Byrds in the show 'California Dreams' which takes you on a trip through the influential Californian artists of the late 60's & early 70's.

She then changes gears in the 'Fleetwood Mac Story' and transforms into the enigmatic and mystical Stevie Nicks complete with witchy spinning dances and shawl twirls. This is where Reine locks in her voice and layered harmonies beautifully with fellow singers Angus Munro and Lucy Songi creating a dreamy 'vocal chocolate'.

Reine has just finished her successful Adelaide Shows of 'Women of Rock'and quite frankly she must be exhausted? She stomps on stage in her 'almost knee high' black boots with kickboxing shorts and a black tank top, then goes the full rock chick as she channels Janis Joplin, Joan Jett, Heart, Suzi Quatro and more.

Reine prowls her stage and demands the audience punches the air on her signal, and out of fear they respond. Latecomers and mid show bathroom users cannot escape her wrath and they all jokingly get named and shamed.

Reine repeatedly runs across the stage (and around the venue) and pulls some of the fiercest poses in rock & roll history. It is captivating to watch her jump on the drum riser, throw herself on the stage floor, then run through the crowd. It makes the audience feel like they have enjoyed their very own musical workout (minus the exercise).

Reine's voice is outstanding and her stage presence is unrivalled. The body language screams 'don't mess with me' and I look forward to seeing her performance in 'Back to Black - The Music of Amy Winehouse' at The May Wirth- Adelaide Fringe
